Crystal Quest® Nitrate Removal + SMART Single Countertop Water Filter System
This countertop system installs in seconds and sits on the countertop for water on demand and is built to last for years. Quick and easy to use, stylish, convenient, and effectively removes NITRATE and hundreds of contaminants from water.

Water travels through 7 stages of filtration:

In stage 1, and 7 water flows through pre and post one - micron filter pads (1 micron equals 1/25,000th of an inch), which remove suspended particles such as silt, sediment, cyst (Giardia, Cryptosporidium), sand, rust, dirt, and other un-dissolved matter.

In stage 2, water travel through Nitrate-selective resin. Nitrate reduction is 90% to 95% and breakthrough is not affected by sulfate levels. The capacity is 3000 ppm of nitrates as CaCO3. To determine capacity, first, calculate the ppm of nitrates as CaCO3, then divide that number into 3000 to get the gallons. This cartridge can be regenerated using sodium chloride brine.

Carbon Block Water Filter Cartridge (Stage 6)
Water travels through a 5-micron solid carbon cartridge for further removal of volatile organic carbon compounds (VOC's), insecticides, pesticides and industrial solvents and traps particles larger than 5 microns including sediment, silt, sand, and dirt.

The SMART filter contains high-purity copper-zinc formulation that uses a basic process known as redox (oxidation/reduction) to remove chlorine, lead, mercury, iron, and hydrogen sulfide from water supplies.
The media inhibits bacteria growth (fungi, algae and mold) and reduces lime scale, mold, and fungi. throughout the entire unit. In fact, testing has shown that it reduces it up to 90%; thus eliminating the need for silver, commonly used in carbon-only filters. Silver is considered a pesticide by the EPA and, as such, must be registered with EPA.
Eagle Redox Alloy® media is completely safe and meets EPA and FDA standards for levels of zinc and copper in potable water, so the process is not toxic and does not cause any adverse side effects.
Redox media removes up to 98% of water-soluble cations (positively-charged ions) of lead, mercury, copper, nickel, chromium, and other dissolved metals.
Important Note: The cartridge(s) in this system require manual salinity regeneration. The media must be recharged in order to maintain optimum performance. If the media is not regenerated, then the media will exhaust and result in a permeate of 0. The cycle of regeneration will vary based on the influent level of contaminants.
The process of regeneration involves dissolving salt in water (2-3 cups of salt for every 3-4 cups of water) stir well and soak (you may want to use something to hold the cartridge down) the cartridge for 1-2 hours, then soak the cartridge in tap water for an additional 1-2 hours, rinse with the tap running tap water and reinstall the cartridge. Regeneration is not required before its first use even if the cartridge has been unopened for a period of time.
